In Japan, Italy’s winning streak in the World Cup ends. The Italians were defeated by the Russian team by 3-1 and  also say goodbye to the possibility of any medals three rounds before the competition’s end.A great start and two well-fought sets aren’t enough for the Blengini’s team, which surrenders during the fourth set.Good news for Italy:  the excellent block performances (12 points, 5 points for Russo) and the kills (11 points for Kooy).  They experienced  many difficulties instead in receiving the Russians’ serves.Of note was the debut of Francesco Zoppellari in the national team.
